Hello everyone
It was lovely to hear some feedback about last weeks’ blog and I apologise if I have misled you a bit with the cover photo of this week’s one.
I promised my son that I wouldn’t write anything connected to sex this week, including crystal vibrators, so I thought I’d share my thoughts about the Three R’s and how important they are in my life. I would love to blog about something romantic, raunchy & racy but not today. Perhaps another time, but please carry on reading, and do feel free to leave a comment and subscribe to my mailing list on my website.
Reviews, recommendations and reputation…
Love is Crystal Clear is my debut romance novel and I I did a fair bit of research before going down the self publishing route. It’s a very competitive world out there, and I am a very tiny dot in a big ocean. Two of the most important R’s in my new career are reviews and recommendations.
To date, the reviews that have been posted have been wonderful and if you are responsible for them, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
One in particular stood out as it brought tears of joy to my eyes…
‘This book was recommended to me by a close friend who felt that we could find ourselves within the book… I certainly have. As a woman in my forties, who had a disastrous marriage, and having taken 5 years to find myself again I really identified with Henri and the self doubts she found herself with. The book was written beautifully and took into consideration the complexity of the human brain, emotions and, of course, menopause. Thank you for the lovely book.’
I felt so honoured that somebody took the time to write this review after it had been recommended.
It has made me appreciate how many authors out there are very reliant on reviews and recommendations, and I will endeavour to leave a star rating each time I read a book. There are so many people who read a vast amount of books and leave reviews, either on their own blog or through social media. You can join websites such as Goodreads.com and OnlineBookClub.org to name but a few, as well as setting up your own social media pages to share your reviews.
So, this leads on to the third R
Reputation…
I plan to write more books and build up a reputation as an author. Watch this space…
So on that note, I must love you and leave you, as I have a raunchy chapter to write in the follow up to Love is Crystal Clear.
Although, will Kirsty have a brief dalliance with the pool man, whilst she stays with friends in Ibiza, or will she stick to her guns and not give in to temptation and wait for Mr Right?
Have an amazing week.
Lots of love
Joanna 💜
